Buildee —

Building a tool for optimum energy efficiency visualization

Services provided

The client

Buildee is a consumer software application which allows building owners to get a grasp on how they can retro-fit their commercial buildings with energy efficiency in mind. Buildee answers the question “How to i add value to my building AND make money?”, allowing the masses to receive abundant energy intelligence at a low cost.

How did we help?

We redesigned Buildee’s desktop, mobile and native products from the ground up. We delivered a design and complete layout system for Buildee’s next generation product.

Improving energy efficiency visualization with an approachable and user friendly dashboard

The Buildee native app was designed to be accessible on-the-go, as many users are using the app in real time on the job.

Tables with legs

Buildee application consists of many datatable views. To make these as efficient as possible, we created an extendable sorting, filtering and column management system which could be applied to any of the many table instances across the product.

Making the most out of long forms

We designed the form entry process in Buildee for quick access, with a visual hierarchy which allows users to fully understand where they are in the process.

A full design system

We created an extendable design system for the Buildee product, which could be utilized to deliver any number of UX needs.

— New project creative system

— Base navigation system

— Menus and pickers

— View and edit system

Mobile expierence

The entire Buildee product functions beautifully in a mobile form factor with attention paid to simplifying visualization and workflows for the mobile environment.

Beyond the screen

We worked with Buildee to develop a number of additional design resources, such as trade show banners, designed to communicate the full power of adopting Buildee at a glance.

The result

In overhauling the Buildee user experience we delivered a future proof system that allowed the client to continue shaping the future of building efficiency visulization.
